MEET MISS KRISTEN BACK - (Jazz, Lyrical, & Combo Classes)
Owner / Director of K & Co.
Kristen is a well rounded individual who sets goals and high standards for herself, staff and students and encourages them to work hard to achieve them. Kristen has been teaching competitive and non-competitive students ages 2 to adult in all styles for the last 14 years. Aside from teaching in the studio, she has also taught for area preschools, and choreographed musical theatre productions for area high schools, competitive dance teams, and solos for competition and pageants. Kristen has finished her study with Dance Masters of America Teacher Training School through the University of Buffalo in New York. Kristen has been dancing for almost 25 years, and is trained in the Vagonava style of Ballet. She has studied under many professional dancers, taken classes with Tulsa Ballet, and danced competitively on an award winning dance team. Kristen holds a Bachelors Degree in Marketing from Oklahoma State University and an Associates Degree in Business Administration from Rogers State University. She is also well experienced in dance studio management and show production. Kristen is married and has three beautiful little boys.
MEET MISS REBEKAH (Ballet)
Rebekah began her ballet training at the age of 3 and began formal training at the age of 14. Her pedagogy training began at the age of 16 at the Dance Arts Conservatory in Tulsa, OK under the direction of Leidi Yu (Ballet China, Bolshoi Ballet Theatre, NYC Ballet, Tulsa Ballet). She continued to teach for Ms. Yu while also beginning a dance program she directed and taught through the Tulsa Parks Department. While still in high school, she also began teaching for Nancy Clarke School of Dance in Tulsa, OK. She trained in Tulsa, OK under instructors Matthew Bridwell, Kathryn Sharp, Anthony Manescu, Debbie Almohandis, and has taken partnering courses and master classes from Marcello Angelini (Tulsa Ballet Artistic Director), Daniela Buson, Irina Ushakova and many others. Rebekah has attended the Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute, has been the dance director for several church ministry dance teams choreographing and performing in large-scale productions, and completed an understudy program with the Tulsa Ballet Theatre. After high school Rebekah danced with the Mid-South Ballet Theater in Nashville, TN and the Nashville Dance Theater. During that time she also taught ballet for Dance Classique Ballet Studio and The Bellevue Dance Center teaching master classes and intensive pointe training classes. Since moving back to Oklahoma in 2004, she has been teaching ballet for Reality Dance Studio in Claremore, OK. She is pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education at Rogers State University, is married and has 2 daughters.
MEET MISS BETHANY (Combo Classes & Tap)
Bethany Ogden has been dancing most of her life, for 20 years. When she took her first dance class as a kindergarten student, she was hooked. She began her teaching career while still in high school and is now starting her 10th year of teaching. Bethany has taught many different styles of dance including ballet, tap, jazz and hip hop for dancers ages 3 to adult. Bethany has been on numerous competitive dance teams, including Storm All Stars. Reality and Claremore High School Varsity Dance Team. During her dance career she has accomplished many goals, including winning several national championship titles. Dance takes up a majority of her life, but that is OK with her because dance is her life. In her spare time Bethany enjoys helping out at Hilldale Baptist Church where she is a member. On Sundays in the church nursery, and helping out at Hilldale’s vacation bible school. Spending time with her family is also a major part of Bethany’s life. Although Bethany’s passion is teaching the “babies”, she is more than qualified to take on any teaching challenge.
MEET MISS ASHLYN (Combo Classes)
Ashlyn started dancing at the age of three. Starting at age 8, she was a part of the Reality Dance Studio competition dance team for several years. She has attended the Dance Revolution convention for the past nine years and she will be attending the dance teacher Refine conference this year. For six years, Ashlyn was a teaching assistant in several different dance classes. She is going into her second year of teaching dance at K & Company. Dancing is her passion and she wouldn't dream of doing anything else! She attends First United Methodist Church in Claremore and loves spending time with her family. Ashlyn is a senior at Verdigris High School and she is looking forward to what the future has in store for her after high school.
MEET MISS MARANDA (Modern)
Maranda began dancing at age 5 & spent the next 13 years attending various studios in the Tulsa area. While her main focus was on ballet, in which she trained mostly in the Russian & the Royal Academy of Dance/English styles, she also had many years of training in jazz. In 1998, Maranda moved to Jackson, MS to study dance at a liberal arts college called Belhaven University. While there, she intensely studied ballet, pointe work & modern dance. She had the privilege of studying under Lauri Worill-Biggs (formerly of Atlanta Ballet & instructor for Ballet Magnificat), Amy Roark-McIntosh (MFA & current Director of Dance at Oral Roberts University) & Marc Arentsen (MFA & former Chair of Dance at Belhaven University). While at Belhaven, Maranda also performed with the Belhaven Dance Ensemble & choreographed works for concerts in 2001 & 2002. She graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Dance in 2002 & returned to Tulsa in 2003. Upon her return she became a founding member & choreographer for Tulsa Contemporary Dance Company. From 2008 to present, Maranda has had the privilege of dancing & performing with Amy Roark-McIntosh's modern/contemporary dance company, Living Water Dance Company, as well as collaborating with local dance artist Rachel Bruce-Johnson's company, The Bell House.In teaching ballet, Maranda incorporates a great deal from the Vagonava Method. And in teaching Modern, she draws inspiration from the Limon & Horton techniques, but mostly from a pure joy found in moving through time & space in this most expressive & unrestrained form of dance.

MEET MISS PAIGE (Combo classes)
Paige Montgomery will begin her 16th year of dancing. She first began dancing at Reality Dance Studio when she was 2 years old and is currently a senior in High School taking classes at K&Co. as well as teaching. With this being her first year of teaching she is excited to share her passsion for dance with her students as her own dance teachers once did for her. Paige has taken many styles of dance including ballet,jazz,tap,hip hop,lyrical,and modern. She has been on dance teams and competed when she was younger. She has attened Dance Revolution many times and has been a part of Church On the Moves christmas program being a dancer. Paige couldn't see her life without dance because dance plays such a big part in it. In her spare time Paige volunteers at her church, Church on The Move and loves helping out with the younger kids. She strongly agrees with us that as a teacher she will not only be helping students grow as dancer but as a person. She hopes to inspire students and encourage them to not just dance but dance with a purpose.

MEET MISS RENEE (Zumba Fitness)
Renee has been dancing for the past 25 years. Renee began dancing tap, ballet and jazz at the age of five in Buffalo, New York. She danced with Dance Spectrum for nine years, her last two competitive. Once Renee entered high school, she danced her way onto the cheerleading squad and cheered all four years of high school and all four years of college. Through college, Renee coached high school cheerleading for three years, taking her JV and Varsity squads to various competitions taking as high as first place! At the age of 21, Renee auditioned for the Buffalo Bombshells professional dance team (the dance team of the Arena Football League). She danced for them for three years and enjoyed every minute of being in the spotlight! After getting married and having a baby, Renee wasn't sure how to get back into dancing, so she turned to Zumba! She started taking Zumba classes in May of 2009 and recently got her license to teach her own classes! Zumba is amazing because it allows each instructor be unique! Zumba instructors are given the tools to help them succeed by creating their own choreography or incorporating what Zumba gives them! Renee holds her bachelors degree from Buffalo State College in Public Communications and has certificates in both K-8 and K-12 Special Education. She resides in Owasso with her husband and their two year old son, where she is a stay-at-home mommy.
